We stayed for 4 nights while on a biking / walking holiday. We immediately felt welcome when we arrived. We were with 4 persons, so had two rooms. Both rooms were large, the bathrooms extra large, the furniture basic but ok. The region suffers a bit from mosquitos so repellent is available for guests. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good, and the lady serving breakfast makes sure you get your egg dish prepared as you like it. As mentioned in an earlier review, her English may be limited, but her German is fluent.

This hotel is a gem.Hidden away from the mainstream it is a perfect place to relax and enjoy great food and hospitality.Taste the olive oils of the region and enjoy truffles and local wines with your meals. Meals feature local delicacies and we found the staff very knowledgable and ready to share their knowledge of the local dishes. The outdoor eating area was very relaxing with shelter and plenty of privacy.The rooms are cozy and comfortable with views of the countryside. Highly recommended. The hotel is on the old railway line between Trieste with Porec and these days popular with cyclists and walkers. It is close to Buje and the hill towns of the Istrian peninsular so a perfect starting off point for your holiday in the region. From the minute you walk up the lavender lined pathway to the stone facade you know you are in or a treat. Bon appetite!

We found this place while bicycling Parenzana old train track in Istria. In the middle-of-nowhere there is a place really worth visiting close to Buje. You should visit this romantic hide-away hotel with your wife/lower . Beautifully renovated old stone house has spacious rooms, not to mention bathrooms. All rooms (my wife stayed with our daughter two weeks before we both visited it) are furniture in an old Mediterranean style. Just another story is a really friendly, kind but professional and discrete staff, not to mention the restaurant (another review). Must visit if you want romantic hide-away weekend or when you’re just passing by on Parenzana.
